NEW HYDE PARK - The Coast Guard, along with dive teams, has joined the FBI in the search for a missing Northwestern University student from New Hyde Park. Harsha Maddula, 18, was last seen leaving an off-campus party in Evanston, Ill. on Saturday morning. The missing teen's father told News 12 Long Island that his son's iPhone signal was traced to an area two miles from his dormitory near Lake Michigan. He says that the Coast Guard has been searching on the water by boat and in air by helicopter. Maddula was recently diagnosed with diabetes and needs daily medications. The sophomore has been studying biomedical engineering and is described as a very responsible person.
