RIVERHEAD - ? The sudden death of a leading Long Island businessman has left many friends and colleagues shocked.

Police say Jim Bissett III was found dead in his car in Mattituck around 6 p.m. last night.

Bissett, 48, was the owner of Bissett Nurseries, a wholesale nursery operation based in Holtsville.

Bissett was also the co-founder and co-owner of Long Island Aquarium and the newly opened Hyatt East End Hotel.

Bissett is credited with helping lead the revitalization of downtown Riverhead.

Police say the cause of death is being investigated but it is not considered suspicious.
