Closing arguments delivered in deadly road rage trial

MINEOLA - Closing arguments were delivered today in a deadly road rage trial in Nassau County.

Evan Potts, of Oceanside, is accused of running over and killing Ian Sharrin two years ago while in a fit of rage. Potts claims he was fleeing for his life when he hit Sharrin.

Potts' attorney, Stanley Kopilow, says he tried to convince the jury that Sharrin was in a steroid-fueled rage and that Potts was just trying to get away from him and never meant to run him down.

The jury will decide whether Potts is guilty or not of criminally negligent homicide and manslaughter. Ex-prosecution witness testifies for defense in road rage trialProsecutors play interrogation video in deadly road rage trialOpening statements heard in deadly road rage trial
