WOODBURY - Hundreds of homeowners in Texas are beginning to pick up the pieces after a dozen tornadoes ripped through parts of the state yesterday, leaving a path of destruction in their wake.

As many as 13 twisters hit the areas of Dallas and Forth Worth. The Red Cross estimates at least 650 homes have been heavily damaged.

So far, no fatalities have been reported, but there are reports of serious injuries, especially in the hardest hit community of Lancaster, Texas.

April is usually the worst month for tornadoes in Texas.
