FRANKLIN SQUARE - Police say a drunken driver ran a red light and caused a multi-car crash that killed a Franklin Square man last night.

According to police, Christopher Decrescito, 46, of Franklin Square, was killed when his car was hit by the driver and then crashed into another car.

The incident happened at the intersection of Franklin and Corona avenues around 9:15 p.m.

Brian Daly, 24, of Valley Stream, is facing several charges including DWI and vehicular manslaughter.

Police say Daly was operating at a high rate of speed when he passed a red traffic signal light and struck the car operated by Decrescito. 

The driver of the other car involved in the accident is OK.

Daly is expected to be arraigned once he recovers from his injuries sustained in the crash.
