Police say an 11-year-old boy from Brooklyn was in the pool on Route 114 yesterday afternoon when the incident happened.

East Hampton police say an 11-year-old boy from Brooklyn was in the pool on Route 114 yesterday afternoon when the incident happened.

EAST HAMPTON - Police say a child drowned in a swimming pool in East Hampton over the weekend.

East Hampton police say an 11-year-old boy from Brooklyn was in the pool on Route 114 yesterday afternoon when the incident happened.

The boy was pulled from the bottom of the pool and rushed to Southampton Hospital.

The child was later pronounced dead.

The boy’s name is not being released.
