RIVERHEAD - A Dix Hills 19-year-old was indicted today for allegedly beating his mother into a coma.

Charles Okonkwo Jr. pleaded not guilty to felony assault charges.

Police were called to his home last Saturday, where they found Okonkwo's 15-year-old brother dead and his mother badly beaten and lying in a pool of blood.

Okonkwo is not yet charged in his brother's death, but prosecutors say upgraded charges could be coming.
