CENTRAL ISLIP - A Central Islip High School senior will be finishing school with a perfect record, having never missed a day of school since kindergarten.

Toni Hughes says she found out in sixth grade that she had never missed a day and decided to try for a perfect run through 12th grade.

The senior just got inducted into the National Honor Senior and credits never missing a day of school with helping her achieve the honor. She's also a member of the swim and dive team, a reporter for the school paper and the vice president of the school's NAACP chapter.

Hughes will be attending SUNY Purchase in the fall.
