ISLIP TERRACE - Police say a car smashed into a 7-Eleven in Islip Terrace early this morning.

Chopper 12 was over the scene on Carleton Avenue just after 6 a.m.

Police say a 21-year-old male with a learner's permit was driving to work with his mother in the car when he inadvertently put his foot on the gas instead of the brake.

In a viewer picture sent to News 12, you can see the car's front end in the store with a few stacks of drinks knocked over. A building inspector was on the scene and says there is no structural damage, but the store's front window needs to be replaced.

No injuries have been reported and no charges have been filed.
