BAY SHORE - Some camp kids got a science lesson Monday on how make clean water.

Suffolk Girl Scouts, in conjunction with YMCA campers at the ACLD Spiegel Children's Center, looked at ways water could be filtered for their "Wonders of Water Project."

The group separated dirt, rocks and other particles from water.

Campers used household items like coffee filters, gauze pads and paper towels to filter the water into containers until it became almost clear.
