Village of Lindenhurst residents want the state to improve safety on Montauk Highway following a crash that seriously injured a child.

Just this month, a 10-year-old trying to cross the road was struck by a car.

Residents say the road has turned into a speedway for drivers. They point to the span between South Strong and Park avenues as an extremely dangerous stretch.
