California National Guardsman Kevin Brady finally reunited with dog Bailey
PORT JEFFERSON STATION - A soldier made the long journey to Port Jefferson Station to be reunited with the dog he adopted in Afghanistan.
California National Guardsman Kevin Brady was forced to leave Bailey, a German Shepherd mix, after his tour in Afghanistan ended in May. That's when Brady reached out to Dori Scofield, founder of Save-A-Pet and Guardians of Rescue in Port Jefferson Station.
Scofield quickly helped raise $5,000 to coordinate Bailey's long and complicated return to the United States. After two months of being quarantined, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped, Brady was finally able to pick Bailey up.
