Businesses in Elmont, Garden City look for boost from Triple Crown buzz

The racing buzz around Elmont, Garden City and other nearby locations meant potential big bucks for businesses, as well as homeowners.

Some residents in the area rented out spaces in their driveways for premium parking at the event. Homeowners charged anywhere from $10 to $100 per car.

Hotels and restaurants in the area expected to see a bump in sales.
