CLIFTON PARK, NY - Officials say a bus carrying a college lacrosse team from Vermont to a game on Long Island has crashed.

Police say the bus crashed just before noon on I-87 in Saratoga County. Investigators say the bus was hit by a car that spun out of control on the wet highway. The bus toppled over along the side of the road.

The bus was carrying about 40 people from the St. Michael's College lacrosse team.

A local newspaper citing NYS Police is reporting one person in one of the vehicles died.

The team was set to play a game against Mercy College in Westchester County tomorrow and had a game against NYIT on Saturday.
