BROOKHAVEN - Some town residents are upset with the Town of Brookhaven for burning storm debris following Hurricane Sandy.

Residents say that the burning debris is leaving a foul odor after the town, county and state began the burn.

Some environmentalists say that the burning produces particulate matter which they claim is linked to health issues, including lung and heart issues.

The town says that air-monitoring equipment will be installed to ensure that the air is safe for nearby residents.
