Brookhaven Town Hall evacuated over threat
The threat came in the form of a letter that was mailed to News 12 Long Island. (February 19, 2013)
BROOKHAVEN - Brookhaven Town Hall in Farmingville was briefly evacuated this afternoon over a threatening letter that was mailed to News 12 Long Island.
Suffolk police made the decision to evacuate the building for about an hour this afternoon.
Brookhaven and its officials have been under fire for their response to this month's blizzard. Some town streets went unplowed for days after the storm dumped nearly 3 feet of snow in some areas.
