BELLPORT - The Town of Brookhaven and Suffolk authorities have condemned a Bellport house they say was a crack den.

"This is an example of ongoing efforts by the quality-of-life task force to take our community back - and we're going to do it one house at a time and one community at a time and this is one of the worst of the worst," says Mark Lesko, the Town of Brookhaven supervisor.

Officials say they condemned the house yesterday and the people living there scattered. According to officials, they all declined emergency housing and one person was arrested for disorderly conduct.

The home is in foreclosure and it is unclear who owns it, officials say.
