Traffic/TransitBrookhaven Town council members and residents are blaming Town Supervisor Ed Romanie and acting Highway Superintendent Michael Murphy for the slow response to last week's snowstorm.
It's been four days since the blizzard hit Long Island, and many town streets are still buried under snow and ice.
Officials and residents alike blame Romaine, who is away on vacation, and Murphy, who left the area as snow started falling.

Brookhaven Councilman Steve Fiore-Rosenfeld says the storm response has been a failure from the top. But Brookhaven Councilwoman Connie Kepert says the real blame lies with Murphy. Kepert says he has no experience and hasn't been at work since the storm started.
Murphy told News 12 Long Island he left town because of a family emergency.
Still, Town of Brookhaven residents say that answer's just not good enough.
Romaine will return to Town Hall Wednesday afternoon and will hold a news conference Thursday.
