CENTER MORICHES - A Setauket man is accused of breaking into a Center Moriches church.

Lead Pastor Mike Jankowski says he heard a loud noise coming from the main office of Lamb's Chapel Church, where he found a man behind the desk. Police say 44-year-old Brian Cook, of Setauket, ripped through a number of envelopes, looking for cash. They say he was clearly under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Jankowski says he and Cook started wrestling. He says he was able to grab Cook's collar with one hand and dial 911 with the other.

The incident was the second time in six weeks the church has been broken into, Jankowski says.

Cook is charged with burglary.
