BRENTWOOD - Parents of a special needs student want to know why a teacher grabbed their son.

Surveillance video of the incident, posted on YouTube, shows Brentwood North Middle School teacher Kevin Moore shaking 13-year-old Jonathon Lopez.

Lawyers for Lopez's parents say he was calling his parents because he was upset he wouldn't be allowed on the wrestling team. They say the teacher ran up to him and started shaking him.

However, a police report indicates that Moore told Lopez to return to class, attempted to take his cellphone and was forced to defend himself once Lopez became aggressive.

The incident happened in February 2012, but the video was just leaked on the Web. Now, lawyers for the student's parents are accusing the district of hiding the video from them.

School officials say they reported the incident to authorities when it happened. They say they are not allowed to discuss any disciplinary measures against the teacher.

District officials say the welfare of their students is always their first concern.
