Deer Park Avenue was closed for hours after the crash.

DIX HILLS - Police say a drunken driver flipped a vehicle in Dix Hills early this morning, seriously injuring a passenger in his car.

Investigators say the driver, 37-year-old Raphael Guerrero, hit a curb and a pole before the car flipped over on Deer Park Avenue. The road was shut for hours this morning as police investigated the crash.

Guerro suffered minor injuries, but a passenger in his car was seriously hurt.

Guerrero is facing DWI charges, police say. Deer Park Avenue has since been reopened.
