PATCHOGUE - Police are looking for the person who crashed a boat and then fled the scene.

A 23-foot recreational boat crashed into the west jetty of the Patchogue River at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday. One person was injured, but other people abandoned the boat, according to police. Authorities say some of the passengers were later interviewed at nearby locations, but they aren't cooperating.

Police are still trying to track down the owner of the badly damaged boat.
