Black Friday brings all types of shoppers to Roosevelt Field Mall

GARDEN CITY - The Roosevelt Field Mall saw a frenzy of shoppers looking for the best Black Friday deals throughout the day today.

Black Friday sales brought all kinds of shoppers into the mall, from the determined buyers who started their annual spree last night and were still going strong into the evening to the consumers holding tight to their wallets.

According to the National Retail Federation, more shoppers will actually be buying gifts for themselves this year.

In terms of gift receiving, almost 60 percent of shoppers reported that they would rather get a gift card than an actual gift this year.

Nearly half of all shoppers surveyed say they will avoid the crowds by opting to shop online using tablets and social media sites like Facebook to scope out deals.

If you didn't get a chance to experience the Black Friday sales, don't fret. Many stores say they'll continue to offer bargains throughout the weekend. Black Friday frenzy: LI shoppers scoop up holiday deals
