WOODBURY - The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for northern and southern Nassau County through tomorrow night. News 12 Long Island's Meteorologist Bill Korbel says residents faced extreme heat and poor air quality across the area today. Highs were between 82-92 degrees throughout the day, with a heat index of 88-99 degrees. Tomorrow, temperatures in some places are expected to hit 98 degrees with a heat index of 95-105 degrees, making it the hottest day of the summer so far.
