Bicyclist in critical condition after hit-and-run

A bicyclist is in critical condition after being run over by a car in Island Park.

Police say a 31-year-old woman lost her balance and fell off her bike, and then a passing car ran her over and kept driving.

ISLAND PARK - A bicyclist is in critical condition after being run over by a car in Island Park.

Now police are searching for the driver who did it.

The incident took place Saturday morning at the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Long Beach Road.

Police say a 31-year-old woman lost her balance and fell off her bike, and then a passing car ran her over and kept driving.

Detectives believe the car is a black Acura RSX with blacked out taillights and a tinted license plate cover.

Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
