WOODBURY - Democrats today officially nominated Town of Babylon Supervisor Steve Bellone as their pick for Suffolk County executive. Bellone is focusing on his record as supervisor, where he says he reduced debt every single year, kept taxes low and delivered a $4.2 million tax cut in 2011. Tonight, he said, "Our county government is in terrible condition and our region faces challenges that threaten our long-term prospects." Republicans have not yet decided on their pick for county executive. Current County Executive Steve Levy (R-Suffolk) is not running for re-election.
