BABYLON - Officials at Robert Moses State Park are concerned that the beach, especially the beach at Field 5, is suffering from erosion.

Park officials say that the beach can normally handle 10,000 people in a day, but because of erosion, it can now only handle 5,000.

The officials say that the beach is still recovering from Hurricane Irene.

Despite the issues at Field 5, officials say that the mild winter has spared other Long Island beaches from erosion.
