BAYPORT - Long Islanders from different walks of a life have come together today at the Bayport United Methodist Church to help spread holiday cheer at the 15th annual Christmas dinner.

Volunteers at the event have served about 100 people a Christmas meal. They say the goal is to make sure that no one is alone on Christmas.

"Life is tough and you just have to get through it," says Corry Martin, of Blue Point. "Things like this help."

Guests at today's event enjoyed delicious food, pleasant conversation with friends and music.

"We have people who are poor, people who are alone, friends, veterans and anyone we can think of we tell to come," says longtime volunteer Sue Richon.
