BRENTWOOD - A Bay Shore teen is accused of driving under the influence of drugs and trying to evade police. 

Police tell News 12 an officer tried to stop Alex Nyugen after running a red light, but he took off north on 5th Avenue in Brentwood 

Cops say the 17-year-old then tried to make a left turn onto Suffolk Avenue when he struck a flat bed truck.

Nyugen was finally stopped and arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs.

 Nyugen and his passenger were injured, but are both expected to survive.
