FLORAL PARK - One year later, family and friends are remembering three camp counselors killed in a car crash on the Meadowbrook Parkway with a basketball tournament in their honor.

Michael Mulhall and sisters Jaime and Paige Malone, all of Floral Park, died when their car crashed into a tree. The three were carpooling with two friends to Camp Anchor in Lido Beach, where they all worked as counselors at the camp for special needs children.

The three friends have been honored with a memorial at Centennial Gardens in Floral Park. This Saturday, both families, and Paige Malone's boyfriend Joe Lynch, are holding a basketball tournament to raise money for two foundations established in their memory.

"It's in their memory, and I love all three of them, and their memory needs to live on," said Lynch.

The tournament will take place Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. John's University.
