A Coram woman is accused of driving while intoxicated after a wrong-way crash that seriously injured another driver. Police say 27-year-old Barbara Nitti was driving

CORAM - A Coram woman is accused of driving while intoxicated in a wrong-way crash that seriously injured another driver.

Police say 27-year-old Barbara Nitti was driving westbound on Route 25 near Old Middle Country Road when she crossed into the eastbound lane, hitting a car driven by 68-year-old Lillian Fernandez at about 1:30 a.m. today.

Fernandez was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. Nitti sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Nitti was charged with driving while intoxicated.
