BALDWIN - A Baldwin native is preparing for the fight of his life this weekend.

Chris Weidman will battle undefeated Anderson Silva for the UFC middleweight championship Saturday in Las Vegas. His trainer, Ray Longo, says Weidman has the perfect combination of speed, size and smarts to come out on top.

Fellow fighters are backing Weidman as the fight approaches. Al Iquinta, of Wantagh, says Weidman's wrestling experience will work to his advantage.
