Baldwin homecoming game marred by stabbing, shooting

BALDWIN - Police say homecoming festivities at Baldwin High School turned violent last night when a man was stabbed in the school parking lot and a car had its window shot out in separate events.

Investigators say the incidents occurred during the football game between Baldwin and Hicksville.

Police say a 20-year-old man was stabbed twice. They say he is expected to survive.

Officials also say that two men, one armed with a gun, opened fire on a group of Freeport teens. Freeport is considered the traditional rival of Baldwin High School.

The shots hit the window of an SUV nearby while a 44-year-old father and his 8-year-old daughter were inside. They were not injured in the shooting, according to investigators.

Police say so far no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
