EAST FARMINGDALE - A fire ripped through a vacant building in East Farmingdale near Airport Plaza.

Fire officials say the flames broke out around 12:30 a.m. at the Fairchild Republic Company facility building on Conklin Street.

Officials say Babylon Town knocked down part of the building that was unsafe.

There's currently no word on how the fire started. The arson squad is investigating.
