Arrest made in slaying outside of Holbrook home

YAPHANK - A Yaphank man was arraigned today for allegedly killing a man outside of his Holbrook home last year.

Cops say John Williams was found shot to death in his car on Geery Avenue in October.

Suffolk police and U.S. Marshals arrested Reginald Ross, 25, of Yaphank yesterday for second-degree murder.

Investigators say Williams was sitting in front of his Holbrook home warming up his car when Ross walked up and fired. Ross' attorney says he was set up.

Prosecutors say they are currently testing the gun they found in Ross' car to see if it was the murder weapon.

Ross is being held without bail and faces 25 years to life on the murder charge.
