HUNTINGTON STATION - A new tool to fight crime is being introduced in troubled Huntington Station.

The ShotSpotter technology will be installed in a two-square-mile area that has been plagued by violence. The system can pinpoint where gunfire is coming from in seconds and relay the information to authorities.

Anti-crime efforts have been stepped up in Huntington Station after a string of violent attacks last year.
