BETHPAGE - Bethpage Federal Credit Union teamed up with Island Harvest today for its third annual Turkey and Trimmings Drive to help those in need put a holiday meal on the table.
Organizers say this year, there's a significant demand for help.
"Island Harvest has had requests of over 40,000 turkeys this year, and Bethpage wanted to help us to make sure that we could collect as many turkeys from the community and help as many people as we possibly could," says Island Harvest President and CEO Randi Shubin-Dresner.
Long Islanders can donate frozen turkeys, canned goods, cash or even supermarket turkey vouchers.
