Amityville police search for 911 caller in 4-year-old's death
AMITYVILLE - Police are still searching for a man who made the 911 call for a young boy found dying alone on Wednesday in Amityville.
After an autopsy, authorities say the death of Adonis Reed, 4, was a homicide.
Police say they received a 911 call at 3:49 p.m. Wednesday in which the caller indicated that an ambulance was required for a small boy at an apartment on Ketcham Avenue.

When police arrived, they discovered Reed lying unconscious on a couch in the living room.
Detectives say he was a clear victim of violence and had bruises on his body when emergency crews found him.
Officials say no adults were present in the apartment when first responders arrived.
Two adults were caring for Adonis and his 6-year-old sister but he was alone when police found him. His sister is now with child protective services.
