LONG BEACH - Officials say an ambulance was involved in a crash on its way to a beach rescue.

The incident happened in Long Beach around 7 p.m. yesterday after lifeguards pulled a boy from the water.

Officials say paramedics were involved in the crash while they were on the way to check out the boy.

The ambulance slammed into a pole at Long Beach Boulevard and East Beech Street.

Officials say all involved in the crash are in stable condition.

There is no word yet on the cause of the crash.
