YONKERS - Yonkers residents can now immerse themselves in a new type of movie experience.

The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema opened its doors today on Central Park Avenue.

The new movie theater, which is the first of its kind in the state, allows consumers to select and reserve their seats online, and be seated at a table where they can fill out order cards for their food and beverages.

The cinema, which has a strict no talking and no texting policy for customers, has created 150 new jobs in the area and promises to be an economic boon to the city.
