GARDEN CITY - Some Long Island neighborhoods could soon get a whole lot noisier. A plan to change flight patterns out of John F. Kennedy International Airport would have more planes flying over Nassau County, affecting hundreds of thousands of people. The Federal Aviation Administration says the proposed flight plan would reduce flight delays and it also claims noise won't be an issue. The plan has been passed through the state Assembly. If the state Senate votes to approve it, the new flight pattern will take effect in October.
