A Long Island war hero is being honored a second time for bravery on the battlefield in Afghanistan.

Air National Guard Staff Sgt. Matthew Zimmer, of Westhampton Beach, was just awarded the Bronze Star Medal for valor.

Zimmer was on a mission in Afghanistan with the 106th Rescue Wing in 2012 when he saved a wounded Marine.
