WOODBURY - The Academy today announced this year's Oscars nominations.
"Lincoln" leads the pack with 12 nominations, including best picture and director, as well as acting honors for Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones.
"Silver Linings Playbook" has been nominated in every major category, including best picture, actor, actress, director, supporting actress and supporting actor.
"Beasts of the Southern Wild" star, 9-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis, makes history as the youngest person to be nominated for best actress. The indie film also scored nominations for best picture, director and adapted screenplay.
Director Kathryn Bigelow, who won the Oscar for "The Hurt Locker," was not nominated for "Zero Dark Thirty," though the film itself scored a best picture nod.
Some of this year's snubbed actors include Ben Affleck for "Argo," Tom Hooper for "Le Miserables," and Quentin Tarantino for "Djanjo Unchained."
