WOODBURY - It is getaway day for Long Islanders planning on traveling this holiday weekend.

AAA expects this weekend to be the biggest weekend for traffic since 2008, and expects about 35 million people will travel more than 50 miles.

On a positive note, officials say gas prices are at the lowest in four years. On average it is about $3.73 a gallon.

On Monday, LIRR trains will be on a holiday schedule.

However, if you are flying, air fares are about 2 percent higher than last Labor Day weekend.
