WOODBURY - According to AAA, more than 100 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more between Wednesday and Jan. 3.

The agency says it’s the first time it has expected that high of an amount of travelers. They also say 90 percent of them will be driving.

AAA says lower gas prices and rising incomes may be part of the reason for the record numbers.

Those trying to catch a flight out of LaGuardia Wednesday were hampered by delays caused by fog. Officials are urging travelers to check their flight schedules.
