SOUTHAMPTON - The SPCA says it has captured its ninth alligator on Long Island. The latest gator was spotted outside a Southampton home.
A wildlife organization is caring for the 18-inch gator which would have died from the cold if it was not rescued. The reptile is similar to the one found last month in Lake Ronkonkoma.
Officials believe the reptiles are being released by people who bought them as pets.
