9-year-old boy killed by teen driver laid to rest

FLORAL PARK - Family and friends said goodbye to a 9-year-old Floral Park boy this morning who was killed while riding his bike.

A funeral was held for Andrew Burrous at Our Lady of Victory Church in Floral Park.As News 12 Long Island has reported, Burrous was struck and killed riding his bike last week by a teenager who police say was learning how to drive.Burrous was riding his bike at around 6 p.m. on Martha Terrace with his mother, Kathy, who was walking their two dogs.

Cops say the 16-year-old girl had her learner's permit for a few weeks and she was driving with her mother, a licensed driver, so no charges will be filed against her.
