EAST ISLIP - The East Islip Chamber of Commerce unveiled a memorial dedicated to the victims of the Sept. 11 attacks today.
The memorial sits outside the East Islip Public Library, with a steel beam from the World Trade Center as its focal point.
The architect who designed the memorial was a witness to the World Trade Center attack. The memorial was paid for through donations and volunteers.
The East Islip Chamber of Commerce is trying to raise funds to maintain the memorial and build a Sept. 11 information center inside the library.
