LEVITTOWN - A Long Island grandfather is alive due to his 7-year-old grandson's quick thinking.

David Chavez and his grandfather, Frank Morales, were home alone when Morales, a diabetic, passed out from low blood sugar.

David called 911. Operator Patti Collins answered and sent first responders to the Levittown home.

Morales says he may have died if his grandson wasn’t home.

When asked why he called 911, David says of his grandfather, "He took me to basketball. He took me mostly to McDonald's. He did all that stuff for me, so it's reasonable that I did something back to him."
