MATTITUCK - ? It is a great Long Island summer tradition, today the annual Strawberry Festival begins in Mattituck.

The peak of the strawberry harvest is here and the Mattituck Lions Club is hosting the 57th annual weekend of fun that raises money for local non-profit organizations.

From strawberry shortcake tasting to live music, the festival boasts over 100 arts and craft vendors.

Much of the festival is free and what is spent will help the club advance its year-round community service efforts.

On Friday, the festival will be open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Sunday, fathers will get free admission for Father?s Day.
